Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Nissan Rogue- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the Swagman Dispatch bike carrier on the back of our 2023 Nissan Rogue. The Dispatch is a frame-mounted bike carrier, meaning that you're gonna have a padded hook across your top tube and two cradle straps to secure your bike to the carrier. If you have a carbon fiber frame, a step-through bike or just a nice paint job where you didn't want any contact, this may not be the best option for you, but if that's not a hurdle, then this'll work out great. On the back of the Rogue, it does not have a tilt feature, but your trade off for not having a tilt is the ability to use it in a flat tow situation or if you also own a RV. So that's kind of a good feature. However, it does limit you from accessing the cargo area if you have the bike on. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo bike carrier on our 2021 Nissan Murano. The StageTwo is a wheel mounted bike carrier, meaning that it's going to secure your bike to the carrier using a front hook and a rear cradle strap to lock it down, so you're not making any contact to your cross tube at the top. And so if you have a carbon fiber bike like this one or a unconventional frame bike, it's gonna be able to be flexible to work with both. Another thing to take notice of is the fact that the StageTwo does have a tilt feature. It's gonna allow you to pull your lever and access your cargo area. The tilt on here gives you plenty of space to open your rear hatch and actually use your space to change your shoes or get it ready for your ride. more

And what that does for you, like you can see with our carbon fiber bike, it makes no frame contact. So if you have a bike that you don't want to have that downward force on the top tube, or you have a step through bike or something with an unconventional frame, or you just simply don't want that contact to the frame of your bike, something like this is gonna work well. It works really good with the Murano as far as giving you the flexibility to access the back of your cargo area and keep everything loaded. So let's take a look at that. more

Hi Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about our Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack on our 2021 Nissan Murano. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're looking for kinda like a mid-range bike rack that's gonna be able to accommodate really heavy e-bikes. It's gonna be able to handle at most 80 pounds per bike, holding up the two of them, and we're gonna have three points of contact and we're gonna have one strap on each tire that sits in these cradles, and we're gonna have this ratcheting hook that's padded and the center making contact with our frame. Since we are making contact with the frame, I wouldn't recommend using any carbon frame bikes on it or even some alternative frame bikes on it. So we're still gonna have our tilt away feature and to do that, it's gonna be a little bit of a process, but we're gonna actually have to remove this safety clip and pull this pin out, you might have to lift up on the rack just a little bit, then when I have to pull this other pin and let it fall back, and sometimes you might have to jostle that extra pin in the back, but sometimes it'll just fall past that and unlatch for you. more

This is gonna be a hanging style rack, that can support up to five bikes. They are adjustable, so these cradles that actually hold the bikes in, can be moved back and forth along the arms to adjust for spacing. And because it's a hanging style bike rack there are gonna be a few limitations to keep in mind right out of the gate. Carbon frame is gonna be a no-go, because it is hanging by the frame, so frame contact isn't gonna be good for those. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Nissan Titan. This is going to be a platform style bike rack aimed at carrying e-bikes. It has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, so, good at carrying some of the heavier e-bikes and it's going to work great with bikes that have alternative frames, fenders, things like that because of the way it holds onto the bike. Three wheel straps at the bottom, pull it down and in, and also, keep that front tire from pivoting, but then, the frame clamp up top can rotate around 360 degrees to adapt to those alternative frames. And because we're not relying on wheel hooks for contact, it's fender friendly. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Nissan Rogue- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro Hanging-Style Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2021 Nissan Rogue. Now, with this being a hanging-style bike rack, that does mean the bike is going to hang by the frame. You've got these dual arms with four sets of cradles, so capable of carrying up to four bikes, and having three points of contact on that frame. Two straps over the top that hold it down into these deep cradles, and the third one on the seat post here, acting as an anti-sway cradle, which does (indistinct) our side to side movement, helping with bike to bike contact and preventing the bike from running into our vehicle. A lot of different bike racks that we've tested today had clearance issues with the Nissan Rogue. more

Now this is going to be kind of a mid-range bike rack, but able to work with a wide range of bikes. With this being a platform style rack the bike is going to sit on top of the rack in these wheel cradles, and this particular one holds the bike in place primarily by our front wheel hook right here. That's gonna be the thing that holds the bike upright and keeps it still for the most part, and it does a pretty good job at getting a strong hold on the bike. more

The SE is going to be a two-bike platform style bike rack capable of supporting up to 80 pounds each held primarily by this frame hook here on the center mast as well as two straps down at the bottom. So you can use it for your e-bikes. You can mix and match and get some heavier mountain bikes on here if you want to. One thing we do recommend against is using any sort of carbon frame bike 'cause it will potentially be taking damage on the frame as this, making that primary contact here while you're driving or if you just have a nice paint job you want to avoid that as well. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with trailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The OnRamp is gonna be a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these trays and by our frame. We have this cradle with a strap run around the frame to hold it upright and then two straps on the bottom that pull the bike down and in at an angle and that results in a really strong hold overall. This bike rack is designed to be used with e-bikes, has an included ramp that stores right on the bike rack and a 66 pound weight capacity so it's gonna be good for some of those heavier e-bikes. With it making frame contact, you do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame but alternative frame should be just fine. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The E-Spec is a platform style bike rack that holds the bike in these wheel cradles and by our frame using a frame hook up top. It's gonna get a pretty strong hold on the bike too and it has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike so it's gonna be good for some of our heavier e-bikes as well. With this making frame contact, you do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because this frame hook can damage that fragile frame. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here at the trailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination e-bike rack on the back of our 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. This is gonna be an excellent e-bike rack that's capable of holding up to 70 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold our bike by the frame up here with this clamp that is totally lockable, so you can make sure your bike's secured. Because it makes frame contact though, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that can damage the frame. But the clamp does move around, slide along the mast, pivot and rotate 360 degrees, so you can adapt it to alternative frames just fine. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Nissan Murano- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2022 Nissan Murano. That's gonna be a platform style bike rack. It holds a bike in these wheel cradles at the bottom and primarily by our tires up top. Each tire has a wheel hook that's gonna hold it down in place, and it's gonna be really secure and sturdy in the bike rack. more

The Saris Freedom's gonna be a platform style bike rack that's capable of holding up to two bikes. Each bike can weigh up to 60 pounds and it's gonna hold the bike by the frame. That frame contact is gonna be this cradle here with a strap around it. And because it makes frame contact we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. Now, StageTwo is a platform style bike rack capable of holding up to two bikes. It's gonna hold them by the front tire up here, and that means zero frame contact, meaning we're good for carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and e-bikes, because it does have a 70 pound weight capacity per bike. So it's also gonna be good for some of those heavier e-bikes, because it does go bit above and beyond some of the other e-bike racks that we carry. Now with this, we do have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. more

Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The RidgeBack is a hanging style bike rack that holds the bike up here by the frame and down in these cradles using the ZipStrips. We've got two up top and one around the seat post here to limit our side to side movement, helping with bike to bike contact. This doesn't completely eliminate that side to side movement but it does help it quite a bit. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport- Video
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The Hitching Post Pro is a hanging style bike rack holding the bike by the frame up here secured with two straps over the top keeping it down in these cradles, and the third strap are on the seat post limiting our side to side movement to help limit bike to bike contact. It's not perfect. There's still some movement, but it definitely helps. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The MonoRail is a platform style bike rack, holding up to two bikes and holding them by your wheel primarily, the front tire here really. Now, that's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and does have a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, making it good for some e-bikes too. Like many other platform racks in this class, we have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded. Doing that's pretty simple, we've got a color coded blue handle at the back that we can pull and tilt down, and we do have a pretty impressive tilt on this bike rack, giving us tons of room to open up the back of our vehicle, get something out of the back if we need it, or just have a nice place to sit and change our shoes before or after a ride. more

The Destination is a pretty nice, entry level, platform style rack. This one capable of holding up to four bikes, each up to 35 pounds. And it does hold the bike by the frame here, making use of a cradle, with a strap around the frame. It is gonna work well for alternative frame bikes and kids bikes because of that rotating 360 degree cradle. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2-Bike Rack on our 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The Destination is a 2-bike platform style rack that holds a bike by the frame here. It uses a cradle with a strap around the frame to hold it in place, so it is going to be good for alternative frame bikes, because that cradle does rotate 360 degrees, and it's height adjustable. Now, because it makes frame contact, we still want to avoid carbon frame bikes, because we do risk damaging the frame by making frame contact, and it has a 35 pound weight capacity per bike, so just stay within those limits and you should be just fine. This doesn't have the ability to tilt away with the bikes loaded, so if you want hatch access to the vehicle, whether it be to get something out of the back or just sit there while we change our shoes before or after our ride, we will have to have the bikes unloaded first with the center mast folded down. more
